PERI is again acting as a lead sponsor of the 5D Conference in 2016. The event organised by the HTWG Konstanz University of Applied Sciences focusses on the technology of process-oriented 5D simulation. The Conference is also being held this year on 25th and 26th October in the Konzil Building in Constance.
As in previous years, the main theme of the 2016 Lake Constance 5D Conference is to make projects faster, more efficient and more cost-effective. Software development has been a focus in the past. International developers, architects and building contractors are presenting their strategies and experiences of 5D processes for the first time this year. The attendees will also be looking at themes like cooperation, security and the legal and technical aspects of building information modelling.
“For PERI the Conference provides an ideal platform for making contacts for cooperation with building contractors and for advancing the theme of BIM”, says Dipl. Ing. Jochen Köhler, Manager Engineering Tools & Innovation for the PERI Group.
PERI sees many opportunities in building information modelling for detecting interface problems promptly and, thus, for optimising costs and execution times, especially on major projects. PERI has already been working intensively in this area for several years.
HTWG Konstanz University of Applied Sciences was founded in 1906 as a private Higher Technical Institute. Today it has around 4,900 students, some 160 professors, 250 lecturers, and a further 190 staff in scientific, technical and administrative roles. The University offers 31 bachelor's and master's degree courses in the six faculties of Architecture and Design, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Technology, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, and Business, Cultural and Legal Studies. HTWG Konstanz has several affiliated institutes and societies for continuing education and technology transfer. As a heavily research-focussed university, HTWG is a member of the European University Association (EUA).
